7 March 1916:

On 7 March 1915 Louis's course at Wadham finished. The photograph below records the officers at Wadham with Louis at the time. Louis is in the penultimate row and third from the left as you see the photo.

Louis leaves Oxford for Harrogate and reports for duty with 13th KOYLI on 8 March 1916.

5 March 2016:

For the first time during the War Louis remarks on the Zeppelin attacks. 'Zep scare. All lights out in Oxford'.

Later on Louis was to witness the aftermath of another raid when casualties occurred. At the time these raids may not have been reported widely to avoid scaring the public.

There are no obvious reports following this incident.

On 1 March Louis spent the day on Beacon Hill -This is South East of Oxford close to Stokenchurch.
