The commission process involved a lot of paperwork. Starting with the papers relating to Louis's departure from The Scots Guards.

 Back in November Capt. Wynne Finch had started the process. this is the individual who was responsible for maintaining the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards diaries for most of 1915.

The above is Louis's casualty form on discharge listing his time in hospital between 12 and 13 June and 29-31 July.
