1 September 1915:
The 2nd Scots Guards now formed part of the 3rd Guards Brigade. On 1 September they were inspected by Sir Francis Lloyd.
The Battalion diary does not mention Lloyd's inspection. it notes that on 1 September, the battalion paraded at 7.45am for a divisional field day. The Brigade then assembled along the Boulogne Road and marched via Esquerres to Wavrans. At this stage they had to take cover from aircraft. they reached Romilly at 1pm , appeared to have lunch then marched back. The 2nd Scots Guards were accompanied by 1st and 4th Grenadier Guards and the 1st Welsh.
